Introduction

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an IGO that creates international standards, policies and best practices to address a range of global social, economic and environmental issues. Its motto is “Better Policies for Better Lives”.

The OECD also collects data and produces reports and other content that it makes available through the OECD iLibrary, which is an online portal that is organized by a wide range of themes, including:

The OECD iLibrary contains thousands of e-books, chapters, tables and graphs, papers, articles, summaries, indicators, databases and podcasts, which are discoverable by the above themes, country or content type.

How to Search OECD iLibrary

You can browse by Theme, Country or Theme and Country. You can also search for Statistics, as the example below demonstrates.

After selecting Statistics, you can do a keyword search, browse its featured content, or access different databases, indicators or statistical series. One handy feature is its Country Statistical Profile, which is located under Indicators.

Once you select Country Statistical Profile, you can choose a country from the list and view or download in XLS, HTML or as a PDF.

Here is an example of the Statistical Profile for China, with key indicators of GDP and Exports/Imports highlighted. Note that the profile contains historical data for the past 8 years.
