20 Next Steps With Your Community of Practice

Once the documentary is complete and published, you may be able to get in touch with parts of your community of practice (which we discussed in Part 1) to see whether they would be interested in viewing or promoting the documentary.

For example, researchers whose work is related to the subject of the documentary may be interested in viewing the documentary, and they may have ideas for possible ways to promote it.

Additionally, charities and broadcasters whose scope is related to the topic of your documentary may be able to offer opportunities to broadcast or promote it. For example, after the creation of the documentary short “Getting the Words Out,” it was promoted on the website of the Newfoundland and Labrador Stuttering Association.
