3 The Iceberg Analogy

In this previous chapter you were introduced to three features of stuttering. The classification of stuttering as having “primary” features reflects a decision made at some point in time that some of the experiences which people who stutter face are of greater significance than others. As the quote attributed to Sheehan suggests, this is only part of the story.
