Additional activities that are adaptable to individual topics:

  1. Reflection Journal
    • Students are provided with prompts related to the topic and it’s impact on aging, intersecting identities and health.
    • They write a reflective journal entry expressing their thoughts, concerns and initial understanding of the topic.
  2. Debate (in-person/online)
    • Students are divided into teams and assigned different perspectives on the topic.
    • Engage in a structured debate, presenting arguments and counterarguments supported by evidence and research.
  3. Case study analysis
    • Students are provided with a case related to specific topic.
    • They identify factors contributing to vulnerability, immediate health risks and potential strategies to minimize impact.
  4. Webinar
    • Students attend/watch live/pre-recorded webinar by experts in the field of specified topic.
    • Engage in a class discussion post-webinar to explore what individuals learned.
  5. Resource mapping
    • Students identify and map resources associated with topic.
    • They assess the adequacy of existing resources and propose strategies to enhance equitable access.
