Psychology

Students must consult the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies (BACS) degree regulations that form minimum requirements for the relevant programs in all subjects. Listed below are special or additional requirements that must also be met by students in Psychology programs.

 

Bachelor of Arts (BA) Concentration (30 credits in Psychology)

PSYC-1101 and PSYC-1103, plus 24 additional credits in Psychology with at least 12 credits at the 3000 or 4000 level.

 

Bachelor of Arts (BA) / Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies (BACS) Minor (24 Credits in Psychology)

PSYC-1101 and PSYC-1103, plus 18 additional credits in Psychology, with at least 6 credits at the 3000 level or higher.

 

Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies (BACS) Academic Field (24 Credits)

24 credits of PSYC with at least 6 credits at the 3000 or 4000 level

 

Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies (BACS) Major: (48 credits in Psychology)

PSYC-1101 and PSYC-1103 or 6 credits of Introduction to Psychology or equivalent

PSYC-2101             Data Analysis

PSYC-2111              Research Methods in Psychology

PSYC-3203           Learning

PSYC-3211             Cognition

PSYC-4101 plus 6 additional credits at the 4000 level. At least 9 credits of the remaining 21 credits must be at the 3000 level or higher.

 

Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies (BACS) Double Major (36 credits in Psychology)

PSYC-1101 and PSYC-1103 or 6 credits of Introduction to Psychology or equivalent

PSYC-2101             Data Analysis

PSYC-2111              Research Methods in Psychology

PSYC-3203            Learning

PSYC-3211              Cognition

PSYC-4101 plus 3 additional credits at the 4000 level. Of the 9 additional credits at least 6 credits must be at the 3000 or 4000 level

 

Multidisciplinary Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies (BACS) (with Psychology)

Please refer to Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies (BACS) program requirements regarding the development of a Multidisciplinary degree. Students interested in using Psychology as one of the subjects in the Multidisciplinary Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies (BACS) should consult with the Department Chair.

 

Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies (BACS) Honours (66 credits in Psychology)

PSYC-4900           Honours Seminar & Thesis    Minimum Final Grade of 75% is required

PSYC-2111               Research Methods in Psychology

PSYC-1101 and PSYC-1103 or 6 credits of Introduction to Psychology or equivalent

 

At least 6 credits of the remaining additional credits must be at the 4000 level. An average of 75% is required in courses in Psychology Honours in the last three years of the program
